Electrical Engineering

Whether you own a mega yacht or a sportfish, our electrical engineers provide you with the security of knowing there’s safe, reliable power at your fingertips. We collaborate with builders, project managers, and designers to develop power generation and distribution systems that can handle any load.

Marine Surveys

Marine surveys are key to preserving the integrity of your electrical system and ensuring class compliance. People rely on our marine surveyors near Ft. Lauderdale, West Palm Beach and worldwide. With years of experience in inspecting vessels, our ABYC-certified marine surveyors can identify any problem. Insulation resistance, battery condition, corrosion, submersion, fire, and lightning damage — we test for it all. On completion, we’ll provide a written report describing the root cause of any problems and recommending standards-compliant repairs or upgrades.

Dockside Services

Wards Marine Electric provides expert electrical design support, installation, troubleshooting, repair, and commissioning services for new-build yachts, sportfish vessels, military vessels, and refit projects throughout South Florida and worldwide. Our ABYC-certified marine electricians are trusted by captains, crew, yacht managers, and shipyards to keep vessels operating safely, efficiently, and reliably both at the dock and underway. Whether you need emergency troubleshooting, a complete electrical refit, or support for a new equipment installation, our outside service department delivers responsive onsite marine electrical service backed by more than 75 years of industry expertise.

With an extensive inventory of over 7,000 items and 20,000 feet of warehouse space, coupled with our knowledgeable B2B and retail sales staff, we guarantee access to a comprehensive range of marine electrical supplies near Fort Lauderdale. Kristina Hebert

CEO / President

Kristina Hebert is President and CEO of Wards Marine Electric, a third-generation family business founded in 1950 and globally recognized for its marine electrical expertise. Having grown up in the industry under the leadership of her grandfather and father, she joined the company in 1996 and later served as Chief Operating Officer for more than two decades before becoming CEO.

With a bachelor’s degree in political science from the University of South Florida, Kristina combines her legislative background with decades of operational and technical sales experience; she is also a two-term past president of the Marine Industries Association of South Florida and a current ABYC board member.

Today, she leads Wards Marine Electric’s continued growth and hosts The Wards Way podcast, featuring prominent industry leaders and policymakers at major boat shows, boating tournaments, the American Boating Congress, and the ICOMIA/IFBSO Congress.

Four Generations

Born from Ward Eshleman Sr.’s passion for boating and expertise in electrical systems, Wards Marine Electric has been a beacon of innovation, craftsmanship, and trust since 1950.

What began in a Fort Lauderdale garage has grown into a leading name in the marine electrical industry, built over more than seven decades and carried forward through four generations. While the industry has evolved, our commitment to quality, service, and the people we work with has remained at the heart of everything we do.

Today, Wards has grown beyond its Fort Lauderdale roots, expanding our reach with three additional locations and a growing team serving the marine industry across multiple markets. With each generation, we have continued to build on the foundation established by Ward Eshleman Sr. embracing new technology, expanding our capabilities, and finding better ways to serve our customers.
